Sital started her business, Sari (UK) a fashion label that collects old saris and turns them into western couture garments with the aim of making a change in the world.

She is devoted to environmental design and ethical business practices and works tirelessly to raise awareness around environmental sustainability and fair trade and continues to be instrumental in changing public perception about recycled and ethical fashion. Her efforts have been recognized by both Tony Blair and the Queen.
Q. Who or what has most inspired you in your life?
A. My Grandfather has most inspired me. He is a pillar in his community, family and has struggled all of his life for his family, moving to two countries.

Q. Who do you consider to be the most inspirational people in the world?
A. People who have overcome adversity and gained a positive outlook on life. Everyday, normal peoplewhose achievements are not marked by money but their contribution to their work, community or family.

Q. What’s your definition of success?
A. Being able to manage a work-life balance. For true success, to achieve happiness at work and at home in a great accomplishment.

Q. What is the key to success?
A. Honesty and integrity are key to success. People need to believe you and in you. Family support. My husband is my rock and always there for me to lean on.

Q. What boundaries have you had to overcome in order to achieve success?
A. I have had to overcome cultural and financial boundaries eg. Asian girl choosing career over marriage- it was difficult to get support. I sold my flat to support myself whilst running my business and at one stage had no money coming in at all.

Q. What is the most important piece of advice you’ve been given?
A. Acknowledge everyone and what they say, even if you disagree. If you acknowledge others you will get acknowledged back.

Q. What advice would you give to women looking to get ahead in their career?
A. Set yourself targets. Make some easily achievable and other aspirations and then work out how you are going to achieve them. Then go for it.

Q. What’s the most important thing in your life?
A. My family

Q. What’s the best thing that’s happened to you?
A. Meeting my husband.

Q. What’s the worst?
A. Being bullied.

Q. What’s the best mistake you’ve ever made?
A. Setting up was financially the wrong thing to do, but was the best learning curve of my life business wise, and I also met my husband.

Q. What’s your favourite item of clothing?
A. My quilted 50’s suit made from vintage sari’s.

Q. Describe your style?
A. At work- tailored suits or smart casual.
At home- jeans and a t-shirt, slouch clothes.
Going out- dresses, 50’s style are my favourite, feminine and elegant.

Q. How does hosiery fit into your life?
A. Usually with every outfit. Can be great accessories.

A. Sheers

A. Silk

A. Gym.

Q. What makes you feel sexy?
A. Nice underwear.

A. Passionate.
